My Fusion story started about three and half years ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made for myself and my family. When Brett and I got married, he traveled a lot, so we didn’t do much cooking. I would eat anything that took little time to cook (or microwave), or I would stop at fast food places and restaurants. A couple years later, a change in jobs kept Brett home, but our eating habits were still the same, on top of getting little to no exercise. During that time, I became pregnant with our first child and gained around 45-50 lbs. Post-pregnancy I lost a little weight (but not all of it) and still didn’t change my habits. I thought “hey, I just had a baby!”
A few years later–and still not back to my pre-pregnancy weight–we had our second child, and I gained 40-45 lbs back. After that pregnancy, I was determined to lose the weight. I started walking/running around the neighborhood. I lost some weight, but not as much as I wanted to lose. Then, as the saying goes ‘2 steps forward, 3 steps back.’ I ended up in the hospital having surgery for appendicitis. Not keeping up with my exercise routine as I healed, I lost all of my determination. I struggled for a long time, hating my body. Most of the time, I wore t-shirts and jeans, or oversized clothes to cover up my flaws. I didn’t feel beautiful despite my husband telling me so every day.
I remember being so nervous walking into my first Fusion class and feeling way out of my element. I ended up having so much fun that I started attending almost every class, every week.
Then I saw a friend’s post on Facebook about a Fusion class she was taking and how much fun it was to actually work out there, so I decided to give it a try. I remember being so nervous walking into my first Fusion class (I am far from being a dancer) and feeling way out of my element. I ended up having so much fun that I started attending almost every class, every week. After a few months, I decided to step up my workouts and joined my first ever Women’s Boot Camp. I was finally seeing the results that I had so longed for–smaller shirts and pants! It wasn’t long after seeing my results and hearing me gush about Fusion that my husband decided to join Men’s Camp.

Despite losing weight, I was still not eating healthy. I figured, “I’m working out so I can still eat this.” I needed to be the best example I could be, not only for myself but for my two kids, so I joined My Healthy Goals. With MHG I learned about clean, healthy eating and portion control, and I discovered a love for new foods I had never eaten!
